AI V
NATAK-AN KO AH!!! bwisit ngaa kinanlan gid ya b magpili between kay Megan kag Kris Allen??? teh kanugon naman sang akon text vote!!! SHET!!! ANO NI YA MAN??? mga manok ko ya nagkalataktak! i liked Kris coz he sang Man in the Mirror, although i think that it was not a great, great performance. gwapo man gid sya gle Emz... hahahahha!
emery, did you see sang si Kris na lang kag si Megan sa stage, tapos gin kayo ni Megan iya hair, gin tapi ya bala palikod k dba laba iya hair, tapos gin buligan sya ni Kris? KILIG KO AH!!! THEY LOOK SOOOOOO CUTE TOGETHER!!! KILIG GID KO!!! HAHAHAHA! tane maging sila!
i think Megan was good and i think she picked a good song coz it suited her voice (she has a really, really nice voice!) but was not really stellar, although she was soooo cute with all her awkward movements and baby doll dress and stockings. hehehe. she better be back for the wildcard show!!! with Anoop!!!
who else? hmmm. Adam Lambert. i guess he sang good but i'm still not sold on him. daw permi lang sya ya ga birit-birit, daw muna na lang pada-ug nya permi. maybe i'm just partial to blues/jazz/soul type of voices. hehehe. like Megan's. and Camile Velasco.
aaaaand... Allison. now her, i like. although she's also birit to death, she has that husky texture to her voice. she's the one with the reddish/purplish hair i was talking about before.
as for the others, they are forgettable. hahahaha. and for next week, i'll see how the blind guy and lil rounds will do, and that nerdy guy who sang off with Cody on the last day of hollywood week. i'm not voting anymore. HMPF!

STAYS
i am back in Jersey. already i miss the warm Vegas weather and The Strip and the yardsticks. hehehe. my last three nights were the most fun i've ever had in Vegas. Ron and I went to a gay bar, and it was AMAZING! will try to go into details later. i hit on someone and got hit on by someone. both firsts! hahaha! so that's how it feels!
anyways, i gotta unpack first. i won't prolly go to sleep until about 6am here since i sleep in Vegas at around 3am.
AI TALK: i wasn't able to really watch the show because it was a full house at mom's and people were all talking at once so i wasn;t able to really listen. my manok, Megan looked real pretty and I think she sang real good too. that's all i was able to note. i'll watch it again tomorrow. ciao for now.

theres only one way two say those three words
and that's what i'll do.
i love you.
(i love you)

TIME
everytime we go to karaoke bars, i would always look for this song but it's always not on their song list. the only place that had it was Time Zone at Trinoma but we ran out of credits before i could even murder the song. fast forward to 10months later, and it's the first song i bought from iTunes. ahhhh. the wonders of Apple. thank you. hahaha.
so, here are the lyrics of my latest LSS culprit. the song is the first on my playlist here. listen.
Time and Tide - Basia
It's hard for me to stop my heart
love never knows
when the time is right
I don't want to hurt
anybody but
can't help loving you
I never felt like this before
I know this is passion
worth waiting for
let love take take its course
that's the only thing
for us to do
We got time, oh baby,
there's no rush
gonna be a better
day for us
hang on
and I will
wait for you
our love will always stay as good as new
Time and tide
nothing and no one
can stop us now
for better for worse
this time I'm sure
it's gonna last
How can I stop my heart?
Love never knows
when the time is right
don't want to hurt
anybody
don't want to make them cry
don't want to make them cry
We've got time, oh baby
there's no rush
gonna be a better
day for us
hang on
and I will wait for you
Our love will always stay as good as...
new
It's a matter of time
only a matter of...
Time and tide
nothing and no one
can stop us now
for better for worse
this time I'm sure
it's gonna last
gonna last forever
We got time, oh baby
there's no rush
gonna be a better
day for us
hang on
and I will wait for yo
Our love will always stay as good as...

DUE
so we went to California again last weekend, Disneyland, specifically. i thought it would be like the Universal Studios experience, not crowded and no lines. wrong. i forgot that it was a long weekend and that Saturday was freaking Valentines Day! in no time, the whole park was littered with couples, middle aged and teenagers alike, all holding hands and making googoo eyes at each other. on a certain water ride we were lining for, a couple in front of me started kissing and caressing each other. i just rolled my eyes and silently told them to get a room.
and it just got worse as night came, it became colder so couples were hugging while walking and cuddling and the Pirates of the Carribean ride, a couple in the front boat were groping. ugh. lucky for them their boat didn't tip over.
we left at around 10pm, after the
HMMM
anyways,
here are excerpts from entertainmentweekly.com
full article, here'American Idol' recap: Pimpin' Ain't Easy
"Either way, I don't think Alexis or Danny have much to worry about, unless President Obama's new stimulus plan includes a provision to pay text-messaging bills for the blue-collar roughneck's loyal fans. Michael seems like a genial guy, but his vocals are nowhere close to his two fellow finalists, let alone eliminated contestants like Ricky Braddy and Anoop Desai."
"Speaking of Anoop, that had to sting hearing he only missed taking Michael's silver stool by some 20,000 votes. The good news, though, is that with that information released to the public, he seems like a mortal lock to get a chance to perform on the March 5 Wild Card show. Whether or not he scores one of the three Wild Card positions, though, will probably depend on who shows up that night: Superfly ''My Prerogative'' Anoop, or Sleepy R&B Ballad Anoop. Might I suggest dude get it percolatin' with Mary J. Blige's ''A Family Affair'' to assure himself a spot in the top 12. "

AI IV
the three that got in are:
*Alexis Grace
*Michael Sarver
*Danny Gokey
I am disappointed that Anoop did not get in. he was called together with Sarver and that made me nervous coz i like them both.
now i don't like Sarver anymore. he took Anoop's spot! hmpf!
Megan is up next week. there are a lot of my faves in the second group. hay. there can only be three.
***
just watched AI. here are my penny's worth:
Jackie Tohn: i like her. she has great energy ang she picked a nice song to go with it, i just forgot what it was. haha. i think she sorta looked like Katy Perry tonight. oh wait, an Elvis Presley song.
Stevie Wright: EMERY, you like her??? SHE SUCKED! wrong song and bad vocals! a Taylor Swift song on a critical Idol night??? nuh-uh. i wanted her off the stage after 5 seconds. ugh.
Alexis Grace: I LOVE HER!!! love the song, the look and the attitude! wooot!!! i think she was one of the best tonight. Simon even said she might be the one to watch this season, that she's sorta like Kelly Clarkson.
Anoop: i think it was a bad song choice. Angel of Mine is kinda boring considering what he's shown he can do. good thing he has a good voice. i still like him.
Casey Carlson: ugh. she's really pretty but she was baaaad. MYMP sang a better rendition of Every Little Thing than she did. i wanted her off the stage asap, too. ugh.
Anne Marie: i liked her before but she just didn't perform tonight.
Steve Fowler: i think he did justice to Jacko's song but maybe Paula was right; maybe Rock With You just belongs to Jacko only. i dunno, you tell me.
Tatiana: she was really reserved tonight. she may be cuckoo but she has a really, really good voice! i don't care if people think she's psycho, what's important is what she puts on the table. like when randy said "oh no, a whitney song but there were moments, tatiana."
my manok,
Danny Gokey: i was expecting a bit masculine song, but his rendition of Hero was really good, too. i was a bit saddened though, when the camera fell on Jamar in the audience. such a sport, still there to support.
Sarver: i think he did okay but not stellar.
for the other two i missed to mention, they are forgettable.
what i found funny was Simon, aside from bashing the contestants, he was actually mocking the band also, making comments like the arrangement was bad, the keyboard was a bit heavy. hahahaha! nothing escapes the guy. the new girl, Cara, was like a parrot. she just repeats everything Randy said, with a bit of paraphrasing. and i was waiting all the while for Paula to slip. hahahaha.
so, my favorite picks for the night are:
Alexis Grace
Anoop
Danny Gokey
Jackie Tohn
Tatiana
who are yours?

UH-HUH
i just found out that a friend from college, X, is 5months along. she's a very quiet girl, soft spoken. i know, i know ang mga mabuot una busong. emery told me, she's a bit envious that X is gonna be having a baby. that made me think. i, too, am a bit envious but maybe it's just because a lot of people i know are sprouting babies it's getting to me. as i've said, i am very impressionable. hehe. i am excited to know what my future kid will look like and stuff. i am excited to run after them, take pictures when they're dirty, drooling or crying. then fast forward to when my son is a teenager and has a girlfriend. i'll terrorize her. i'll be a great mom! hahaha!
okay, the purpose of this post is... i don't know. hahaha. the valentine bug just bit me and made me start typing about marriage and babies. ugh, i sound lovesick.
cheer me up. how was your Valentine?

anyways, the silver lining to this was that Frankie got sent home. hah! fraud. hehehe. and she was saying to Simon, "so there are better girls than me" to which Simon replied, "yes, there are better girls than you" hahaha! wrong guy to ask, dear.
and one of those better girls is Megan!
HOY EMERY! hahaha. my other manok, Megan with the sleeve tattoo was not sent home during hollywood week coz i saw her tonight and she's one of the 36! cnu nga tonto naghambal cmu nga wala na sya?? hahaha.
anyways, my other manoks who got through are:
Anoop, the Indian guy from NC
Scott, the blind guy
Allison, the one with the red-purplish hair, who sounds and looks a bit like Kelly Clarkson.
Danny, my consistent manok
EDIT:
manok ko man ang
welder and the oil rigger (can't remember their names yet)
there are others i like but not really. haha. like,
Jasmine, who was in Rose's group
Nathaniel, the one who wore red skinny jeans tonight
Tatiana, has a really good voice, she just needs to stop with all the wailing and theatrics. haha
Norman/Nick, iim curious how he will turn out
till next week!

and that psycho, Tatiana, who doesn't seem to stop singing. hahaha. she's a riot! she may be a bit bonkers but she sings real good. hmm.. who else? ha! that Frankie girl who also got through tonight, the one that sang Amy Winehouse's You know I'm No Good as her audition piece. i don't like her. she has released a single already, which was included in the movie Ted Hamilton soundtrack and she was kinda cocky at the auditions too. i'm not ang Idol expert but isn't the competition supposed to be for amateurs? hmm.
there's another elimination tomorrow. i might be able to remember their names by then. hehe.
FLIP!
anyways, we drank the night away, played cards and i learned a new drinking game. hehe. we were still playing pusoy dos when the sun came up. they dropped me off at around 7am.
i had a blast! it was really fun, and budz, thank you for taking me out and taking me into your fold. hope i can come with you in Cancun. sa uulitin!
i didn't bring my camera so i don't have a single picture. i am just waiting for all them to upload so i can grab em all. hehehhe.

CA
i'm sleepy so i'm just gonna babble on whatever here.
i LOVE California! i seem to love all the places i go to, like NY and Vegas. hehehe.
we got to LA at around half past eight in the morning so we went searching for a place to get breakfast. most of the restaurants were closed. i couldn't help but compare that to Manila, where there's a lotta places open 24/7. hehehe. we finally found one, a sorta retro diner. after that, we went out to take pictures of whaddaya call that sidewalk with stars and stars' names on them. we walked around a bit and headed to Universal Studios.
i really enjoyed Universal. we took the studio tour and we were able to see Wisteria Lane, home of the Desperate Housewives. i never knew it was filmed in a backlot. i thought it was a real street somewhere just roped off during filming. we were also able to see sets from Nacho Libre and a lotta others. they showed us how they filmed the Kingkong ship scene (sorry, i haven't seen the movie) Jaws, and War of the Worlds. we were also able to pass by the Psycho set and there was the guy actor coming out of the Bates Motel with a dead body and when he saw us, he strated advancing to our tram with a knife. haha. he looked really creepy. they have a small sorta garden that they use for Central Park scenes and stuff. it was small but the guide said it's just a matter of camera angles to make it look big. oh, we were also able to see some stunt men doing a scene. we saw the studios and the props, too. we didn't get to see any actors though.
if everything falls into place bie, i'll bring you here. i bet you will love it. maybe it will finally make you pursue film. i already bought you a clapper for starters. =)
after the tour, we went on to try all the rides. it may take me a long time to be back in LA i might as well try everything! the best ride was the Jurassic Park ride where they first take you on a sorta tour of a dinosaur habitat before your boat drops to an almost vertical slope. i screamed my head off! then lined up to do it again. hahaha!
after we've settled in our hotel, toto, pane and i went to the beach and see sa bit of the neighborhood. there were restaurants all over the area and everyone was just relaxed and stuff. i saw this pub with a band and pool tables in it. must be a college hangout.
we went strolling along the beach after breakfast the next morning and that walk was what made me love California. there were people walking their dogs, there were these really cute glass apartments (maybe because salt doesn't erode glass?) and there were stalls just like in Boracay! they sell shades, clothes, souvenirs, a WHOLE LOTTA BONGS, sage, bracelets, just about everything! i can't help but notice the abundance of bongs being sold, and at one point, i think i smelled marijuana in the air, quickly covered by incense. Toto smelled it too.
i bet you will love to live here, bie. close proximity to the beach, reggae all around and... incense. hehehe.
we the headed to Sta Monica and let my kid cousin enjoy the rides. i was dragged to join on one, a frustrated roller coaster it seemed to me. haha. i just got dizzy. i now know that roller coasters can't be mediocre. it's either masaka atay mo sa ulo mo magsakay ka or don't be a roller coaster at all. haha.
we finally left and because toto doesn't know the meaning of speed limit and can spot a cop car millions of miles away, we were able to get home in about 3 hours. i'll post a link later for the photos coz i gotta resize some of them. need to sleep.

my manok, Rose the Hippie got eliminated last night and i haven't seen my other manok, Megan with the arm sleeve tattoo.
my other manok who got through is Danny, who sang Seal's Kissed By A Rose on the first Hollywood Night.
o davah Emz, kabalo nko mag AI talk. haha.
i am now looking for Danny's group song I Want You Back by Jackson 5 (i think. tell me if i'm wrong, i'm lazy to do research) they were really, really good! very nice remix!
next week naman!

Stephen King On 'Twilight' Author: 'Stephenie Meyer Can't Write Worth A Darn'
By Access HollywoodFebruary 3, 2009 4:05 PM PST

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Stephen King's opinion may drive a stake through the heart of "Twilight" author, Stephenie Meyer.
In an interview with USA Weekend, the bestselling author compared Meyer with J.K. Rowling , the author of the Harry Potter series.
VIEW THE PHOTOS: Robert Pattinson- Hollywood's Hottest Vampire!
According to Stephen, "Both Rowling and Meyer, they're speaking directly to young people... The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good."

OF COURSE, you can't deny that Stephen King is, well, king of what he does. he wrote a lot of great novels, Carrie, being my favorite. and like Carrie, a lot of it has been made into movies also. and well, yeah, there may be a few errors on Stephenie's books but maybe King should take it easy on her. Meyer's books delivers the kilig feeling to the her intended readers just as King grips us in suspense and horror.

“May there always be work for your hands to do, may your purse always hold a coin or two. May the sun always shine on your windowpane, may a rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you, may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.”
Thanks, Lizeth!

VEGAS III
toto and pane took me to The Strip to show me the real Vegas. Vegas at night. if i loved NY before, i love Vegas more! it's a bit like NY but with wider streets and purely uninhibited people. i love how you can buy drinks from one bar and carry it around the casino, the street and other bars. drinking and smoking on the streets is legal and normal. BASTA! i can't explain it! I LOVE LAS VEGAS!!!
LAKE MEAD

according to the brochure i got,
Lake Mead is Hoover Dam's reservoir and is America's largest man made reservoir. named for Reclamation Commissioner Dr. Elwood Mead, it can store 28.5 million acree-feet (9.2 trillion gallons!) of water, or nearly two years of the river's average annual flow. (an acre-foot of water would cover a football field to a depth of one foot.)we went there after lunch and watched the ducks and fishes, and also enjoying the warm day. =)
DAM IT!
we went to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead yesterday. toto got us the Powerplant Tour and after the first leg of it, which was a film showing how the dam was conceptualized and built. i've always thought that it was just a dam, something i also see back home like the one in Guimbal but after that tour, i have new found respect for it and those who built it. in the midst of deserts such as Nevada and Arizona, water is a necessity.from what i was able to retain from the film, the Colorado river causes floods along the states that it passes through. in the desert, you might think this would be a good thing but the flood did more damage than good. Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States and of which the dam was named after, decided it's time to tame the wild river and put all that energy into good use. so what they did, they altered the course of the river into four tunnels so that they can get to the riverbed and start the foundation for the dam. it took 60,000 men with a pay of 4 dollars (i forgot if this was per hour or day) at the time of the Great Depression. since it's always hot in the desert, they had cooling pipes installed so that they wont have to wait for the cement to cool and they were able to finish it in four years, two years ahead of schedule.
the materials, like pipes, used were so huge that it couldn't be transported by sea or air so they had to make them onsite. when the dam was completed, the four tunnels used to divert the river was closed. now, aside from giving water to the millions of homes across across the west, the Dam also harvests from the river power or elctricity with Southern California getting a big chunk of 56%, Nevada 25% and Arizona gets 19%.
aside from the pyramids of Egypyt, this is another great engineering masterpiece done by man.
the river serves SEVEN states.
the tour was done 500+ feet below street level, or 53 stories down. and on the boulder walls, you could see water seeping out of it. i was getting claustrophobic, and toto was all the more fanning it saying things like, baw kon magtagasak ang tubig pasulod, patay gid ta d. teh abi.
my cousin TJ and i were reading it and we both gasped at the same time when we finished the third sentence. =( he has a dog and has a soft spot for animals
that's the dog's grave they're standing onfound the address on their brochure. or you can just google it.
