i have been coming to and from bacolod for a year now. when you're an outsider, you're bound to get the classic question, "so how do you like/find bacolod?" and i just got asked last saturday.

you just don't ask me that.

i am biased as hell and whether i keep mum about that or not depends on when you try to put words in my mouth. if you ask me something, wait for my answer. it just doesn't make a good mood, what with my lack of sleep, my time being held back and you friggin saying, "it's better than iloilo, right?"

HELL NO.

sarcasm and rhetorics were doing an EDSA inside my head and i was thisclose to telling her off but fortunately, i kept my mouth shut. i felt so mature and shit. lol

if i let my mouth run, this is what you would've heard.

her: it's better than iloilo, right?
mature me: mmm?
despicable me: HELL NO! THE ONLY PLACE TO GO HERE IS SM, THE JEEPNEYS SUCK, AND JUST 10 MINUTES OUT OF THE "CITY PROPER" ALL YOU CAN SEE ARE SHOULDER HIGH TALAHIB. WHAT ABOUT YOUR GEM OF AN ELECTRIC COMPANY, WITH BLACKOUTS FOR HOURS ON END, EVERY EFFIN DAY?

her: (not sensing the monumental self-control i was exercising at that moment) because iloilo is near the pier so it's so init, like grabe.
mature me: mmm?
despicable me: THE PLACE NEAR THE PIER IS MULLE LONEY DEAR, NOT THE WHOLE ILOILO. AND PROLLY YOU JUST GOT TO CALLE REAL AND NEVER REALLY WANDERED OFF. AND WHERE IN THE PHILIPPINES WAS IT NOT HOT AT THAT TIME? I BET BAGUIO WAS EVEN WARM. LIKE IT'S COOL IN BACOLOD ALL THE TIME. LAST I REMEMBER, I ALWAYS WOKE UP IN A POOL OF SWEAT.

her: there's a lot of places to go here.

despicable me: WHERE??? I'M NOT A PARTY PERSON, I DON'T GO CLUBBING, WHERE CAN I GO??? IN ILOILO, WE HAVE FUNTALIA, LUMPIGA, BBQ PARK ETC FOR THOSE WHO JUST WANT TO CHILL, AND FOR THE REST, WE HAVE SMALLVILLE.

someone other than her: the roads are sooo narrow.
me: mmm?
despicable me: I'LL ADMIT THAT. BUT WE HAVE TWO, NOT ONE BUT TWO EFFIN FLYOVERS. I DON'T CARE IF THEY JAM TRAFFIC MORE THAN ALLEVIATE IT, BASTA WE HAVE FLYOVERS, PERIOD. LOL

what i'm saying is, you are free to ask whatever you like but don't provide answers especially if it's bashing the person's hometown. you could've just gone ahead and did a monologue. i am free to rant here coz my blog is not from bacolod. haha i have friends from there but i've never asked them that stupid question, and if i ever expressed dislike, it's because it's my nature to run my mouth. i have immunity. haha


and one more thing. bacolod doesn't have a PRC office. just sayin. :-P
